BS + 17 years of experience or preferred MS degree with 15 years of progressively complex and a variety of quality experience and leadership

QA Engineer

The QA Engineer will be responsible for testing and related duties operating on a small, dedicated QA team operating within a Unix environment with Java-based applications. The position will develop, document, and execute test plans and test cases as well as generate and maintain automation scripts. The position will also document and track software bugs identified through testing and generally work with developers to resolve outstanding issues and support the QA team in the role of a gatekeeper for production software quality.

Responsibilities:

* Develop and document test plans, test cases, SQL scripts and automation scripts based on user requirements, software specifications and UML diagrams; condition data as required * Document and execute regression, functional, and integration tests * Document and track software failures using Bugzilla and/or similar tools * Work with developers and QA team members to resolve outstanding bugs * Participate in after-hours and off-peak outage windows to provide certification and testing support * Act as the owner/gatekeeper of production software quality as required by the demands of the business * Support ongoing work to automate and document QA regression testing

Experience/Skills/ Education:

* 3+ years experience as a QA engineer. Familiarity with J2EE and Java GUI applications * Knowledge of Oracle 10g, test automation tools, and QA test methodology * Strong understanding of software architecture * Ability to interact with development team to identify and resolve bugs * Ability to develop test plans and cases using business requirements, IT specifications, and design documents including UML diagrams * Knowledge and experience in automation, especially for java and web applications * Ability to verify and tune Oracle PL/SQL * MS or BS in CS preferred but not required * Java development experience is helpful

QA Engineer

The Quality Assurance Engineer position requires Aviation Systems experience in Aircraft Mechanical, Airborne Optical, Chemical and/or Hydraulic Systems. This position will work with the group leaders, project engineers, and the technical workforce to create and ensure that the project quality programs and engineering requirements of the Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is implemented. Specific activities required to implement the QAP may include configuration control, parts and assembly inspection, testing, maintenance of test equipment calibration, disposition of non-conforming material, material control including procurement records, product evaluation, inventory control and product reliability; planning, scheduling, witnessing and documenting testing activities; training, and maintaining quality records.
