The Systems Analyst (SA) will help Business Analysts develop detailed business requirements, meaning the SA must help define all the possible scenarios within a business process, requiring the ability to think and work independently, and develop a broad and deep understanding of the end-to end business process. The SA turns requirements from the BA into system specs (use case and data sheets) from which Java developers construct enterprise services (applications) , enabling a business process through technology in a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) environment. Need experience developing loosely coupled interfaces so that the business process is not cemented in technology and the enterprise services can be utilized by all of CIGNA vs. a particular business unit (Claims, Eligibility, etc…). Deliverables: use cases, process flow diagrams, invocation outcomes, data sheets and test scenarios that the QA team bases their more detailed test scripts upon. Must facilitate a code review to validate that the code ties back to the SA''s system specs. Familiarity with how copybooks, SOAP, schemas, WSDLs and XMLs are put together. Mainframe, COBOL, Java, Websphere and DB2 exp. SQL query a plus. . ***Mandatory requirements: 1) Must have participated as a Systems Analyst in at least one full life cycle health insurance application implementation (vs. updating an existing application) . 2) Must be able to articulate the process they go through to gather requirements.
Definition of SA is a resource to work with the Business Analyst group to assist in designing the requirements, turning them into technical specifications and creating a technical solution to enable a business solution. That solution is then handed to the development team. Systems analyst will then work with QA group reviewing test scripts and validating code. SOA environment, web services, SQL Java, COBOL, XML all required.
