| The duties of the Worker(s) shall include, but are not limited to the tasks listed below: Must have 6 + years of experience. Client is seeking a short term ( 6 month maximum) contractor experienced in web development.
The selected candidate will assist in the programming, testing, pre and post implementation of a web based decision letter system and in developing print solutions for this web application which is being developed based on requirements and in compliance with NCESC standards for n-tier application design and effective utilization of the Windows .net framework. In addition the candidate will: Assist in data exchanges between this system and IBM mainframe legacy systems, provide support as required in the Microsoft .NET environment and assist in application system testing and defect correction. Deliverables include: • Documented and debugged code which conforms to departmental coding standards and performs according to system requirements and performance expectations.
• System documentation and training of permanent staff to provide support for this application. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements. - Minimum ( 2 ) years of experience in development of n-tier web applications with Visual Studio.NET 2 0 0 5 , specifically VB.Net and ASP.Net
- Minimum ( 5 ) years of solid web application development experience using object oriented N-Tier applications using ASP.NET, VB.NET, ADO.NET, DOM, XSLT and XML.
- Experience using inheritance and polymorphism in VB.Net.
- Experience in database design, stored procedures and DTS using Microsoft SQL Server 2 0 00 or later.
- Experience working with systems which utilize mainframe legacy data.
- Excellent language skills for communications with users, documentation of system requirements and training of permanent staff.
- Knowledge of the processes and concepts involved in n-tier and object oriented application design and development including polymorphism.
- Experience with IBM mainframe systems.
- Knowledge of COBOL and VSAM file structures
