Job Summary:
Design, develop, and support real time embedded software applications for Wabtec Railway Electronics (WRE) a leading supplier of technology-based products and services for the rail and transit industries.
Essential Job Functions/Responsib ilities:
  • Analysis, design and development of software for real-time applications on a Unix like and/or MS Windows platform using C, C++ or .NET and C#.
  • Participate in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting software as per WRE policies and procedures.
  • Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data manipulation.
  • Working independently or with a team to develop solutions that meet project requirements within the program schedule and budget constraints.
  • Take an active role in systems analysis and design of real time applications, defining interfaces between system segments.
  • Facilitate support for fault isolation, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis activities during system integration and validation testing.
  • Make independent technical contributions in support of program objectives, as well as interacting with other client or contract software and systems engineers and customers.
Qualifications:
  • BS is Software Engineering / Computer Science / Electrical / Electronics Engineer
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • A good understanding of POSIX complaint operating systems and networking (TCP/IP)
  • A good understanding of the Unix kernel is a plus
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate clearly and concisely
  • Self driven, results oriented and a clear focus on high quality; self motivated; bias for action
  • Minimal travel requirements
